Over time, the rubber component of the spring will deteriorate, creating holes and tears which cause air leaks. Air springs are also prone to leaks caused by dry rot (cracking) in the underside where the shock absorber meets the spring. There are many warning signs that indicate your air spring has an air leak. We've listed most of these further down but it's important to correctly identify the source of the leak before replacing an air spring.

Changing only the defective spring will result in the older spring working harder and possibly shorten its working life.
